Food Power Program

Community Led Garden

Community Led is a production area where residents and partners co-plan crop selection and do growing together. There is a heavy emphasis on sustainability practices and education/training for both participants and community. The area serves as demonstration area for both sustainable growing and for this kind of co-led project. Communities can grow foods that are culturally relevant. Communities can also cross pollinate agricultural wisdom and engage with each other in a way they might not have otherwise. Martha’s works together with partners to engage clients and the community for participation, planning and feedback. Participants learn agricultural planning as well as benefitting from direct technical growing support. Open community workshops are ongoing.
