Position: Part-time Community Programs Assistant
Location: Martha’s Choice Marketplace and Community Farm
Hours: 10 hours per week
Duration: 1-year contract
Rate: $18 per hour
Overview:
Join our team as a Part-time Community Programs Assistant and embark on a rewarding journey to engage guests, support community programs, and contribute to creative projects. This position offers a flexible schedule, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community.
Responsibilities:
1. Engage guests and participants during registration, community events, workshops, and programs, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
2. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing community programs and events, including logistics, scheduling, and participant communication.
3. Collaborate with guests and team members to produce engaging content for podcasts, community kitchen initiatives, art projects, and other creative endeavors.
4. Manage social media channels and online platforms to promote community programs and share compelling content with our audience.
5. Coordinate and facilitate community kitchen activities, such as meal preparation, cooking workshops, and food distribution initiatives.
6. Support the development and implementation of art projects that inspire creativity and foster community connection.
Requirements:
1. Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to engage and interact with diverse groups of people.
2. Technical proficiency in video and sound editing software/tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Audition/Audacity, etc. is preferred
3. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
4. Passion for community engagement and a commitment to fostering inclusive spaces.
5. Previous experience in event planning, guest services, video/audio editing, or related fields is preferred but not required.
6. Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
